Modeling SF-6D Health Utilities: Is Bayesian Approach Appropriate?

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: Valuation studies of preference-based health measures like SF6D have been conducted in many countries. However, the cost conducting such countries with small populations or low- and middle-income (LMICs) can be prohibitive. There is potential to use results from readily available countries’ valuations produce better valuation estimates. Methods: Data Lebanon UK SF-6D value sets were analyzed, where values for 49 249 states extracted samples populations, respectively, using standard gamble techniques. A nonparametric Bayesian model was used estimate a set data as informative priors. The resulting estimates then compared obtained by itself via various prediction criterions. Results: findings permit evidence contribute prior information analysis producing more precise than analyzing only under all criterions used. Conclusions: positive suggest that existing merged another country sets, thereby making own attainable LMICs.

Comparison of EQ-5D and SF-6D utilities in mental health patients.

Various preference-based measures of health are available for use as an outcome measure in cost-utility analysis. The aim of this study is to compare two such measures EQ-5D and SF-6D in mental health patients. Baseline data from a Dutch multi-centre randomised trial of 616 patients with mood and/or anxiety disorders were used. Mean and median EQ-5D and SF-6D utilities were compared, both in th...

Validation of the SF-6D Health State Utilities Measure in Lower Extremity Sarcoma

Aim. Health state utilities measures are preference-weighted patient-reported outcome (PRO) instruments that facilitate comparative effectiveness research. One such measure, the SF-6D, is generated from the Short Form 36 (SF-36). This report describes a psychometric evaluation of the SF-6D in a cross-sectional population of lower extremity sarcoma patients. Methods. Patients with lower extremit...

A view from the bridge: agreement between the SF-6D utility algorithm and the Health Utilities Index.

BACKGROUND The SF-6D is a new health state classification and utility scoring system based on 6 dimensions ('6D') of the Short Form 36, and permits a "bridging" transformation between SF-36 responses and utilities. The Health Utilities Index, mark 3 (HUI3) is a valid and reliable multi-attribute health utility scale that is widely used. We assessed within-subject agreement between SF-6D utiliti...

Estimating health state utility values for comorbid health conditions using SF-6D data.

INTRODUCTION When health state utility values for comorbid health conditions are not available, data from cohorts with single conditions are used to estimate scores. The methods used can produce very different results and there is currently no consensus on which is the most appropriate approach. OBJECTIVE The objective of the current study was to compare the accuracy of five different methods...

What is the relationship between the minimally important difference and health state utility values? The case of the SF-6D

BACKGROUND The SF-6D is a new single summary preference-based measure of health derived from the SF-36. Empirical work is required to determine what is the smallest change in SF-6D scores that can be regarded as important and meaningful for health professionals, patients and other stakeholders. OBJECTIVES To use anchor-based methods to determine the minimally important difference (MID) for th...
